Portrayed in the innocent guise of a rabbit, the Chinese Empress Zhao gracefully and skilfully conceals a cruel temperament. She led her country with an iron fist in a velvet glove. Avant-garde and feminist, she had a tailor-made ideogram created for herself alone, illustrating her remarkable individuality. Functional and decorative at the same time, the Zhao tray can be cleverly transformed into a serving tray or wall chart, adding a touch of elegance and poetry to your home decor. The Zhao tray is an iconic piece from the Portrait Gallery collection, where each creation reveals an enigmatic ancestor. Frozen in time, these characters exchange complicit glances and are tamed by those who welcome them.
